World’s Finest Chocolate
Chicago, IL
What if a chocolate factory and chocolate museum could embody joy, transparency, and regenerative design—becoming not just a place of production, but a living, learning destination that gives more than it takes?
When World’s Finest Chocolate outgrew its long-standing facility in the greater Chicago area, they saw an opportunity not just to expand—but to lead. Inspired by the Living Building Challenge, WFC approached our team with an ambitious question: What would it look like to build the most sustainable chocolate factory in the world?
We’re working together to answer that—through a regenerative design process that rethinks every element of how, where, and why a factory is made.
From site selection along one of America’s busiest corridors (Chicago to New York) to production line optimization and immersive visitor experience design, we’re helping WFC shape a bold, future-ready campus that blends manufacturing, ecology, and education.
The 450,000 SF facility will include a state-of-the-art chocolate production space, public learning center, greenhouses, exhibits, retail, and café—all designed to tell the story of chocolate from seed to shelf, while modeling a new standard for sustainability in food production.
If successful, this will become the world’s first—and largest—Living Building Certified chocolate factory.
More than a headquarters, this is a flagship for what’s possible when vision, values, and design come together.
