Blackadore Caye
Blackadore Caye will be the first Living Building resort in the world. The project consists of a hotel, multiple estate homes, floating villas and other amenities that will serve some of the world’s most influential global citizens. It showcases an entire village powered by renewable energy, onsite ecological water treatment and other deep green strategies along with a major ecological restoration and habitat preserve. Major issues to be tackled include climate change, rising sea levels, ocean acidification and habitat loss, with goals to restore and build greater resilience and ecological health through development as economic catalyst. The project is scheduled to begin construction in 2016.
