Joshua Fisher, LFA is an Associate and Director of Visualization. He is a designer, visual storyteller, and advocate for regenerative architecture with over a decade of experience creating spaces that support ecological resilience, community well-being, and meaningful design outcomes. As McLennan Design’s first employee, he has worked closely with founder Jason F. McLennan to help shape the firm’s vision and deliver transformative projects around the world.

Josh brings curiosity, creative intelligence, and artistic sensibility to a wide range of work—from deep green residential homes and regenerative hospitality master plans to Living Building and Living Community Challenge campuses. His work help clients and communities imagine thriving futures for both people and place, blending clarity, emotion, and technical precision.

He has worked integrally with project teams on multiple award-winning projects from McCall Field Campus, Henrico County Center for Environmental Studies and Sustainability, HMTX HQ, ASHRAE HQ, LEAP Masterplan, Virginia’s first public Living Building, Washington’s LBC-certified Heron Hall, and Minnesota’s first Living Building university project at Winona State, with additional experience across North America, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

Imagining the places we live, work, and play to be as beautiful, regenerative, and inspiring motivates Josh’s work and interest. He is leading research on the integration of regenerative landscapes that improve micro-climate with radical recreation like skateboarding to elevate the everyday experience of regenerative spaces within the built environment. As a life-long skateboarder, he sees opportunity to further enhance the daily experience of the places we work and potential to blend recreation, regeneration, and architecture in meaningful ways.

Josh is also a public artist and muralist, with a growing list of commissioned works for the State of Washington ArtsWA Program, Sound Transit, the University of Washington, the City of Friday Harbor, and the City of Bremerton. He lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and four young boys and is an active community advocate for parks, public art, and inclusive public space.

Inspired by the diverse forest ecology throughout the Pacific Northwest, this linocut highlights endemic species, flora, and fauna that you might find as you walk through any of the regional parks and wilderness. This piece was created in collaboration between Josh Fisher and Cory Bennett.
