The Pacific Northwest has long been a leader in the green building movement and is home to the most productive forest ecosystem in the world. In spite of a strong forest ethic in the region and a desire to lead by example, we have struggled to incorporate the products of sustainable forestry into our built environment. This panel brings together highly respected leaders from the disciplines of forest management, design, and construction. We will take a hard, introspective look at why we fall short of our goals and what we can collectively do moving forward to ensure that our built environment does all it can to conserve, enhance, and protect our natural environment.
