How can we design a pavilion to host the Charleston Symphony with a limited budget and a 6 month timeline from initial sketch to opening night?

The Point Pavilion reflects the industrial setting of the Cooper River and rich cultural heritage of the Lowcountry. Sweetgrass weaving traditions and the structural simplicity of rope bridges inspired a shade structure at the northern point of the new riverfront park.  Zahner, who was central to the collaboration, provided project engineering, fabrication and installation, working directly from 3D models. Tom Knittel, McLennan Design partner, was the project designer while at BNIM.
